Plaza Lighting Upgrades and EV Chargers at the Ronald Reagan Building
Project Description: SEG provided Design-Build services for the Plaza Lighting Upgrades and EV Chargers project at the Ronald Reagan Federal Office Building and Garage. The project focused on improving site lighting infrastructure and installing electric vehicle (EV) charging capabilities while maintaining uninterrupted building operations.
Scope of work included the demolition and replacement of 164 illuminated bollards with energy-efficient models, upgrades to exterior plaza tree lighting, replacement of damaged conduit and GFCI outlets, and the installation of new weather-protected outlet boxes. Additionally, SEG furnished and installed six dual-port, Level 2 EV chargers across garage levels B1 and B4, including both wall-mounted and pedestal-mounted units. Electrical upgrades incorporated new protective bollards for pedestal chargers and Wi-Fi-enabled metering capabilities. All work was coordinated with GSA representatives to ensure minimal disruption to federal tenants and compliance with federal standards for fire safety, accessibility, sustainability, and environmental protection. Construction activities were conducted after hours to avoid impacting daily operations.
