NOAA - NSOF 5th Floor Office Buildout and Heat Dissipation
Project Description: SEG provided Design-build services in Suitland, Maryland for GSA’s client, NOAA. The goal was to convert NOAA ‘s 5th floor facility’s available square footage (then occupied by cubicles) into office spaces, and to provide heat dissipation for Rooms 1001, 1002, 1003, and 1005, as well as the AV room at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF). Heat Dissipation for Room #1001, 1002, 1003, and 1005 involved the provision of design drawings reviewed and approved by the Government and COR. Interior walls were modified for the approved solution, and core drilling through exterior concrete walls was conducted, as needed for equipment implementation, with proper sealing of any cored locations. Adjustments were made to the electrical distribution panel required to power the installed equipment, and equipment monitoring was seamlessly integrated into the building automation system.
Hard wall components were provided and installed, as necessary, to create the approved offices in accordance with the marked-up floor plan diagram. SEG worked with the provided red-lined drawings, which indicated new walls and square footage requirements, to realize the end-user’s requirements.
