Project Description: Structural Engineering Group was hired by GSA to perform as the Prime Design-Build Contractor to create a new 34,000 SF office area on the Ground Level at Postal Square for the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The complete design and construction included architectural, MEP, structural, fire suppression/fire alarm systems, voice/data, furniture and fixtures. The project provided a complete Fire/Life Safety analysis and fully engineered designs of egress and travel paths, fire wall and area separations, and fire suppression and fire alarm systems. The project was fast track and required much of the design and construction to happen concurrently.
